Apoyo a servicios de atención sanitaria y cuidados paliativos

For the December 2023 Denim Days donation, Visions employees chose organizations focused on health care and hospice services. The organizations we donated to include A.V.R.E. Inc (Binghamton, NY), the Bergen Volunteer Medical Initiative (Hackensack, NJ), Mercy House (Endicott, NY), Mom’s House (Johnson City, NY), and the Southern Tier AIDS Program (Binghamton, NY).

Eva’s Village

Visions sent a team of volunteers to help serve food in the Community Kitchen at Eva’s Village in Paterson, NJ. The Community Kitchen serves close to 1,000 meals each day and helps connect attendees to social services and behavioral health programs. Eva’s Village helps thousands of families and children each year, and Visions was proud to help this vital organization feed the community.

Syracuse Christmas Bureau

The United Way of Central New York and the Salvation Army teamed up in Syracuse, NY to hold their annual Christmas Bureau. This event provides toys, books, games, food, and gift cards, and over 2,200 low-income families from Onondaga County registered to attend, as well as 5,000 children. Visions sent a team to volunteer to serve as Santa’s helpers and create a festive atmosphere of holiday cheer!

Season of Giving 2023

The annual Visions Season of Giving campaign is one way our employees can give back to the communities we serve during the holiday season. One of the initiatives during this campaign was the donation of 61 beautiful dresses to the Fancy Frock Thrift Boutique in Churchville, NY. This boutique works with Worth More Nation, an organization that empowers girls impacted by loss or trauma through free community pageants. Another initiative involved employees at our Headquarters in Endwell, NY fulfilling wishes from a Giving Tree by purchasing a wrapping gifts for children in the community. Employees also took the time to write holiday cards for senior citizens in the Broome County area, delivering a total of 302 cards.

2023 Bandera Christmas Dinner

The Bandera Family and Community Alliance’s annual Christmas dinner is no small operation. This free Christmas dinner started at the American Legion Post 80 in Binghamton, NY in 1989 and has grown exponentially ever since, including dinners in various locations around the Binghamton and Norwich areas. Last year, they provided over 1500 meals for delivery to community members. Visions sent a team of volunteers to help bake and pack cookies for the annual dinner.

Boys and Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic County

Visions was proud to partner with the Boys and Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic County during the holiday season to help wrap gifts for the members of the club. This was part of the Holiday Helper sponsorship, where the club distributes hundreds of gifts to local families in the Paterson/Passaic County area of New Jersey annually.

American Heart Association

Visions held two basket raffles for our employees in October and November 2023 to raise money for the American Heart Association. Between the two raffles and other employee fundraising efforts, Visions raised $10,000 to donate to the organization!

Supporting Animal Services

In November 2023, we selected organizations that focus on providing animal services as recipients of our monthly Denim Days initiative. The organizations selected were the Bradford County Humane Society (Ulster, PA), Broome County Dog Shelter (Binghamton, NY), Stray Haven Humane Society (Waverly, NY), and Willow’s Wings Animal Sanctuary (Binghamton, NY).

United Way of Passaic County

Visions sent a team of volunteers to the United Way of Passaic County to assist in packing care packages for servicepeople overseas. The purpose of this opportunity was to send a happy reminder of home, and how much we appreciate our active-duty service members. Over 150 boxes were packed and shipped across the world.

Supporting Family Services

For the October 2023 Denim Days initiative, Visions employees chose organizations with on focus on family services as the recipients of their donations. Safe Berks in Reading, PA was one of the organizations selected. Safe Berks is a pillar in the Reading community, serving as a resource for women and children to escape from domestic violence situations and providing vital housing and childcare services.

Guthrie Lourdes Mammography Van

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Visions was proud to partner with Guthrie Lourdes for a visit from the Mobile Mammogram Van at our Norwich, NY branch. This vital service provided free 3D mammography screenings, along with education about mammograms and breast cancer.

Twin Tiers Comic Con

Visions sent a team of volunteers to participate in the annual Twin Tiers Comic-Con in Elmira, NY. From helping with setup, to volunteering around the Comic-Con, Visions employees had a blast! The Twin Tiers Comic-Con is a 2-day celebration of comics, collectibles, toys, art, writing, games, cosplay, and more!

Roberson Museum and Science Center – Home for the Holidays

Visions volunteers helped to set up trees for Roberson Museum and Science Center’s annual Home for the Holidays in Binghamton, NY. During this event, the entire museum is decorated with various themed Christmas trees. Trees are sponsored by local businesses, organizations, and families.

Habitat for Humanity of Berks County

Visions employees helped with the construction of a home with Habitat for Humanity of Berks County in Pennsylvania. Volunteers spent the day painting walls, helping with flooring, and various other odd jobs. The organization is helping the new homeowner with the necessary assistance to make his dream home a reality!

Operation Jersey Cares

Visions sent a team of volunteers to assist the Washington Business Improvement District with packing care packages for those currently serving, veterans, and their families for Operation Jersey Cares. Packages include non-perishable food, toiletries, personal care products, and other useful items. Founded in 2007, Operation Jersey Cares has packed and shipped over 750,000 pounds of care packages to our service members.

Passaic County Habitat for Humanity

Visions employees volunteered to assist Passaic County Habitat for Humanity in New Jersey by building wall frames for their future housing projects. This event, titled Hammering 4 Habitat & Volunteer Appreciation Event, brings a large group of volunteers together to support Habitat’s efforts, and show appreciation for volunteers with food, games, and crafts!

International Credit Union Day Volunteering

Visons helped celebrate International Credit Union Day by giving back to our community! As members of the Southern Tier Credit Union Alliance, we joined forces with Empower Federal Credit Union, Sidney Federal Credit Union, and GHS Federal Credit Union to assist with various tasks at the Tri-Cities Opera, in Binghamton, NY. From organizing lighting gels and their costume shop, to painting and landscaping, it was a fulfilling volunteer experience with other credit unions.

Families for Families

Visions volunteers helped out at Families for Families in New Jersey to assemble baskets for new homeowners working with the Families for Families program. The baskets are called “Getting Started Baskets”, and they contain the essentials for bathrooms, bedrooms, and kitchens. The Families for Families program helps families who are transitioning out of homeless shelters to make their new spaces a home. Visions volunteers also helped purchase needed products for these baskets.

Alzheimer’s Association Central NY Chapter

Visions both sponsored and sent a team of volunteers to the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Hickories Park in Owego, NY. Over 310 participants took part in the walk and over $56,000 was raised to help aid in research in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

United Way Day of Caring

Visions had the opportunity to work with various United Way organizations across New York for their annual Day of Caring. Some of the volunteer work done included organizing food pantries at the Salvation Army in Cortland, loading up food and supply donations for distribution across 25 different pantries across Tompkins County, and helping paint, clean, and organize a mini grocery store at the Discovery Center of the Southern Tier.

Block Blitz

Organized by Home Headquarters, Block Blitz 2023 took place in the southside of Syracuse, NY. Over 300 volunteers worked to improve over 60 properties in the Elmwood-Creekside neighborhood at no cost to the residents. The team of volunteers from Visions spent the day sealing 7 different driveways.

Broome County Humane Society Duck Derby

Visions was one lucky duck and had the opportunity to sponsor the annual Broome County Humane Society Duck Derby! This event is a major fundraiser for the Humane Society, and over 15,000 ducks were run down the slip and slide racecourse. Two of our staff members came out and volunteered to be part of the pit crew to help get the ducks going.

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
World Breastfeeding Week

Visions was present as a sponsor and with volunteers at the WIC World Breastfeeding Week event in Passaic, NJ. WIC set up the event to celebrate the success of breastfeeding as parents and encouraging pregnant mothers to breastfeed. The mayor of Passaic even stopped by to say hello and thank us for being so involved within the community!.

New York-New Jersey Trail Conference

Visions sent a group of volunteers to help the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference assemble 10,000 maps to be distributed amongst the trails the volunteer organization builds, maintains, and protects. The organization wants to ensure that the trails and natural areas we share are sustainable and accessible to all for current and future generations to enjoy.

Visions sent volunteers to help serve delicious ice cream with the Children’s Home of the Wyoming Conference. This annual event brings the community together and raises funds and awareness for the Children’s Home and their mission.

Food Bank of the Southern Tier

Visions took the second-year students of our Business Academy high school internship program to the headquarters of the Food Bank of the Southern Tier in Elmira, NY. The team of interns, along with three staff members, helped sort and pack donations from the Food Bank’s corporate partners. Items were then weighed and bundled to be distributed to their food pantries and other centers.

Safe Berks Walk For No More

Visions was present as both a sponsor and a team of participants for Safe Berks Walk for No More. The walk was to raise awareness of domestic violence within the community, and all proceeds helped continue Safe Berks’s mission of providing free services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Supporting Hunger and Homelessness

Visions had the opportunity to present three donations to three different non-profit organizations battling hunger and homelessness within our communities. The organizations donated to were Joseph’s House in Syracuse, NY, The Community Food Cupboard of Rochester, and the House of Mercy in Rochester, NY. These donations were a part of the Denim Days initiative, where employees donate $5.00 out of each paycheck to both support causes they care about, and for the opportunity to wear jeans on the first Monday and every Friday of the month.

Juegos contra el hambre de 2023

Visions employee, Erin, volunteered at the Fairbanks Karate Tournament held at SUNY Broome in New York to raise funds for Traci's Hope! Supporting Veterans and the Military

Visions presented a check to Clear Path for Veterans for $1,103.50 from our Denim Days initiative, where employees donate $5.00 out of each paycheck to both support causes they care about, and for the opportunity to wear jeans on the first Monday and each Friday every month. Clear Path for Veterans helps service and connect with members, veterans, and community members through their various programs.

Planting Impact: plantar árboles con un propósito

Sarah's Guest House

Visions team members from Risk, Financial Wellness, Branch, and Community Development in Syracuse, NY volunteered on a Saturday afternoon in February 2023 to repaint two adjoining guest rooms at Sarah's Guest House. Toys for Tots

Clear Path for Veterans

Home HeadQuarters Block Blitz

United Way - Day of Caring

Packing Backpacks for Kids

Some of our Visions team participated this year by helping to weed, mulch, and beautify the courtyard at Binghamton's Roberson Museum and Science Center.

Willow Domestic Violence Center

Day of Caring 2020

Friends Forever Animal Rescue
