ENDWELL, NY - Se acerca la temporada festiva, y las tropas de Boy Scouts se aseguran de que todos tengan unas felices fiestas.

El jueves, el Baden-Powell Council y los Boy Scouts of America anunciaron el comienzo de su colecta anual de alimentos "Scouting For Food".

"Scouting For Food" es el proyecto de servicio más grande del Baden-Powell Council, en el que los Scouts recolectan cerca de cuatro toneladas de alimentos durante los tres primeros fines de semana de noviembre.

Los alimentos donados serán destinados a los residentes que más los necesitan en cinco condados: Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Tioga y Tompkins.

Los Scouts reciben donaciones colocando carteles en picaportes de puertas de entrada en los cinco condados. These door hangers serve as a location for residents to drop off food donations.

Luego, los Scouts regresan a los vecindarios donde se colocaron los carteles y recogen las bolsas con donaciones durante las mañanas de los sábados de noviembre.

"Pasaremos por los vecindarios y llenaremos las bolsas de alimentos, o buscaremos en nuestros propios armarios para encontrar alimentos enlatados", explicó Andrew Larter, Boy Scout, rango Life.

La colecta anual de alimentos es patrocinada por Visions Federal Credit Union.

  • Visions Contributes to Creation of Future Fund

    Visions Federal Credit Union’s President/CEO Ty Muse joined credit union industry leaders and representatives of the African-American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC) during the African American Credit Union Hall of Fame event at the Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, DC, where they were thrilled to announce the creation of the AACUC’s Future Fund. Visions is one of nine initial investors in the new Future Fund and Muse is proud to serve as the founding Chairperson for the initiative.
